About us

The Lorrain Valley is nestled along side Lake Temiskaming in Ontario's Near North. Residents are relatives of the first few families who mined the silver and a smattering of new folks who came here craving some peace. Others are long time cottagers who travel here to spend summers in our idyllic lakes and hills.

The Lorrain Valley has seen it's fair share of boom and bust. Silver mining in the early 1900's opened up the area and, after it bottomed out came the Timber barons.

Now it's the Green Grab as a desperate provincial government tries to meet the projected energy requirements of the population. Southern Ontario is a mess of whirring blades so Wind Technology corporations are looking to Crown Land for cheaper alternatives and smaller populations.

We are a  group of concerned Land Owners,  Seasonal Residents and Outdoor Enthusiasts hoping to protect and preserve the Lorrain Valley and surrounding area.

We are determined to keep the wildlife and people in our area protected and to help change the law for Wind Energy use of Crown Land in Ontario.
