ABOUT THE FLU

The flu usually comes on suddenly.
-
People who have the flu often feel these symptoms:
-
Fever* or feeling feverish/chills.
-
Cough.
-
Sore throat.
-
Runny or stuffy nose.
-
Muscle or body aches.
-
Headaches.
-
Fatigue (tiredness)
-
Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea,
-
though this is more common in children than adults.
-
-
The best way to avoid the flu: get the flu shot.
-
Wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly and often.
-
Keep an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (gel or wipes) handy at work, home and in your car. It needs to be at least 60% alcohol to be effective.

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and throw the tissue out.
-
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
-
Avoid large crowds of people where viruses can spread easily.
-
Keep common surfaces and items clean and disinfected.
